After listening to a podcast this week I have been thinking a great deal about what has come to be known as the ‘fat acceptance movement.’ The podcast is from “This American Life” and is called ‘Tell Me I’m Fat.’ I also happened to go to the movies to see X-Men
We should completely re-evaluate our approach on weight loss. Moving forward, it should not be a part of the conversation about health at all. Telling people to “lose weight” should be banned from the conversation.
What kind of calorie burn do you get from a specific exercise? How many calories should you burn each day? How many calories do you need to burn to lose a pound? I’m not sure any of those questions really matter.
Going vegetarian was a good experience. It was a great way to reorient myself towards more fruits, veggies, and other plant based foods and away from being so meat heavy. However, I also found that it was difficult for me to hit a lot of important nutritional values that way.
